The Aspark Owl is an electric supercar created by the Japanese company Aspark, with the main aim of making the fastest electric car in terms of speed. The first version of this groundbreaking supercar was shown to the public at the Frankfurt Motor Show in the fall of 2017, while the production model was officially revealed in November 2026 at the Dubai International Motor Show.
The creation of the Aspark Owl started in 2015 and after three short years, the Japanese company reached an impressive milestone: breaking the two-second mark for going from 0 to 100 km/h. Thus, this automobile is the first modern Japanese supercar that runs completely on electricity.
Though designed in Japan, the actual making of the Aspark Owl supercar takes place in Italy by Manifattura Automobili Torino (MAT). Aspark has planned to produce only 50 units, making this supercar one of the most exclusive electric cars worldwide.
For its technical specs, the Aspark Owl has four electric motors, one for each wheel, delivering a smart all-wheel drive system. The motors combine to produce an impressive total power of 2,012 HP and a peak torque of 2,000 Nm, allowing them to reach incredible speeds. These records were confirmed by the United Kingdom Timing Association at Elvington Airfield, Yorkshire.

How fast is Aspark Owl?

The Aspark Owl’s acceleration and top speed performance are truly impressive for an electric vehicle. Official data shows that this hypercar can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (about 97 km/h) in just 1.72 seconds, a performance verified during tests conducted in Greece in 2026. However, some sources point to an even more impressive time of 1.69 seconds.
In terms of standard acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h, the Aspark Owl recorded a time of 1.89 seconds in test conditions, although there are reports of an even quicker time of just 1.6 seconds, making it almost a second quicker than the Bugatti Chiron. The hypercar can also reach 300 km/h in just 10.6 seconds, demonstrating impressive sustained acceleration.
The Aspark Owl’s top speed is electronically limited to 400 km/h, although official specifications indicate a top speed of 413 km/h. This performance is possible thanks to the four electric motors which together develop 1,985 HP and an impressive 2,000 Nm of torque.
In June 2026, the updated Aspark Owl SP600 set a new world record for electric vehicles, reaching a top speed of 438.7 km/h. This performance was achieved on the ATP test track in Papenburg, with driver Marc Basseng, winner of the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, behind the wheel. In previous tests the vehicle had consistently exceeded the 420 km/h threshold, first reaching 420.8 km/h and subsequently 430 km/h.
2026 brought further notable achievements for the Aspark Owl, setting official UK Timing Association records at Elvington Airfield, Yorkshire: “Highest average speed over eight miles for an electric car” – 309.02 km/h and “Highest average speed over a quarter mile for an electric car” – 318.8 km/h.
However, the record for the world’s fastest electric vehicle was broken in August 2025 by the BYD Yangwang U9 Track Edition, which reached 472.41 km/h.
What technology does Aspark Owl use?
The advanced technology behind the Aspark Owl is the foundation of its exceptional performance. The vehicle structure uses a carbon fiber monocoque chassis, weighing just 120kg, complemented by a carbon fiber body to reduce overall weight.
Electric drive with 4 motors
The Aspark Owl is equipped with four permanent synchronous electric motors (PMSMs), one for each wheel. The motors develop a total power of 2,012 HP and an impressive torque of around 2,000 Nm. They stand out for their extremely high rotation speed: 15,000 rpm, being among the fastest electric motors in the world. In comparison, the Civetta has almost three times the power of Formula E cars and double that of Formula 1 cars.
1,300 kWh battery and fast charging
The lithium-ion battery has a total power of 1,300 kW and benefits from a monitoring system that automatically controls the level of each cell, protecting it from overcharging and overheating. Full charging takes approximately 80 minutes with a standard 44 kW source. The declared autonomy is approximately 450 kilometers according to the NEDC standard, equivalent to 300 km in real conditions of use.
All-wheel drive system and two-speed gearbox
The intelligent all-wheel drive system is complemented by double wishbone suspension and hydraulic shock absorbers. This system allows you to adjust the height of the machine between 80 and 160 mm, automatically or manually. Stops are provided by a carbon-ceramic brake system with 10-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers. Torque Vectoring technology significantly improves the hypercar’s handling when cornering.
How much does the Aspark Owl cost and how exclusive is it?
The exclusivity of the Aspark Owl hypercar is directly reflected in the marketing strategy and its substantial price. This vehicle represents one of the most expensive and rare creations in the electric car sector.
Starting price and customization
The base price of the Aspark Owl is set at €2.9 million including VAT, placing it among the most expensive electric cars in the world. Interested customers can reserve a copy with an advance of 50,000 euros. Each Aspark Owl hypercar is fully customizable based on the owner’s preferences, thus ensuring the uniqueness of each vehicle produced. Therefore, although the basic technical specifications remain constant, the final appearance and configuration can vary significantly between copies.
Limited number of units produced
Aspark has planned a limited production of just 50 vehicles, which amplifies the exclusivity of this hypercar. Each is built to order and delivered within approximately 12 months of ordering. Actual production takes place in Turin, Italy, in collaboration with Manifattura Automobili Torino, whilst benefiting from the full support of Aspark engineering centers around the world. Initially, delivery of the first example was scheduled for the second quarter of 2026, marking the commercial debut of this revolutionary electric hypercar.
