The new 2026 Hyundai Palisade made a strong impression, reaching the finals of the SUV of the Year competition. When we tested this completely redesigned model, we discovered that it is not just another SUV with three rows of seats, but a true statement of intent from the Korean manufacturer.
Additionally, this 2026 Hyundai Palisade is the brand’s largest passenger vehicle to date, measuring a whopping 4,980mm in length and boasting a 2,900mm wheelbase. Its interiors, especially in the Calligraphy version, are characterized by superior quality materials and great attention to detail, while the redesigned design ensures an imposing presence on the road. With solid performance and a price under $59,000 for the fully equipped version, we think this SUV is definitely a great deal. In fact, if Hyundai had put the Genesis badge on, it could have asked for a lot more.
Design and interior of the 2026 Hyundai Palisade

The exterior of the new 2026 Hyundai Palisade impresses with its dynamic proportions and imposing presence. The design combines exceptional elements without copying other SUVs, resulting in a familiar yet distinctive style. The LED headlights immediately catch the eye and the vertical and horizontal lines on the front, sides and rear create an unmistakable visual identity.
Depending on the trim level, the Palisade offers 18 to 21-inch alloy wheels, a chrome radiator grille and a stylish grille that highlights the increased width of the body.
The interior absolutely wows from the moment you open the door. The mid-century inspired cabin looks great, with premium materials and attention to detail, especially in the Calligraphy version with premium Nappa leather upholstery.
The digital cockpit includes two 12.3-inch curved screens and the center console features UV-C sterilization. Space is generous in all three rows. The second row offers almost greater comfort than the front, while the third row offers adequate space for adults, with three-level heating and electric adjustment.
The layout is occupant-focused, with plenty of storage, charging ports, and modern conveniences like ambient lighting with 64 colors available.
Performance and engines available
The 2026 Hyundai Palisade comes with two engine options that impress in both power and efficiency. The standard model is equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that develops 287 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The real surprise, however, is the new 2.5-liter turbocharged hybrid version that makes 329 combined horsepower and an impressive 339 lb-ft of torque.
The hybrid version not only excels in power, but also in fuel economy, delivering 29 combined mpg even with all-wheel drive and 21-inch wheels. The hybrid’s acceleration feels much lighter than the V6 models.
Towing capacity remains a strong point: up to 5,000 pounds for the gasoline versions and 4,000 pounds for the hybrid model. Without trailer brakes, the Palisade can tow up to 1,650 pounds.
For the more adventurous, the XRT Pro version offers greater off-road capabilities, having been tested on difficult mountain trails. It also offers an excellent balance of capability, comfort and value for light to moderate dirt roads.
All variants benefit from Trailer Sway Control, trailer pre-wiring and a special towing mode that optimizes gear shifting and engine response.
Value for money and equipment options

In terms of value, the 2026 Hyundai Palisade lineup offers options for various preferences and budgets. The base SE model starts at RON 187,245.29, making it the ideal entry point for families looking for a premium three-row SUV without breaking the bank.
The price structure gradually rises through the levels SEL (199,139.53 RON), SEL Convenience (205,929.46 RON), reaching the impressive Calligraphy, which reaches 259,061.83 RON. The hybrid version, available starting from RON 225,634.49, brings more efficiency with a remarkable range of 1,015 km.
Additionally, the off-road-oriented XRT Pro version with standard all-wheel drive offers an excellent balance of capability and comfort for off-road adventures. Additionally, the SEL Premium level includes an additional level of interior technology and refinement without making the leap to higher trims.
Therefore, the Palisade excels not only with its generous equipment, but also with its customization possibilities. Available accessories include roof racks, luggage organizers and custom floor mats. At the same time, technology lovers can opt for advanced infotainment systems, wireless chargers and additional safety features.
Compared to competition like the Toyota Grand Highlander (RON 196,385.58) or the Kia Telluride (RON 172,787.02), the Palisade offers a full package of premium features at a competitive price, making it a smart choice for those looking for a spacious and well-equipped family SUV.
Conclusion
After spending time with the new 2026 Hyundai Palisade, I can confidently say that it raises the bar for the three-row SUV segment. The combination of the impressive design, luxurious interior and powerful engines makes this model a formidable competitor in the market. The ample space offered to passengers in all three rows demonstrates that the Korean company has perfectly understood the needs of modern families.
The hybrid version is undoubtedly the most interesting choice in the range, offering not only greater power than the standard V6 variant, but also notable fuel consumption for the size of the vehicle. The ability to travel over 1,000 km on a single charge makes the Palisade an ideal companion for long journeys.
The well-thought-out pricing structure allows customers to choose the option that best suits their budget and personal needs. Even the base SE model is generously equipped, while the top-of-the-line Calligraphy offers a level of luxury comparable to much more expensive models. Furthermore, the XRT Pro variant satisfies the desire for adventure of those who want to explore less accessible roads.
Compared to rivals such as the Toyota Grand Highlander or the Kia Telluride, this Palisade impresses with its attention to detail and the quality of the materials used. Plus, if it had been wearing the Genesis badge, no one would have questioned the higher price.
I believe Hyundai has managed to create an SUV that doesn’t compromise, whether we’re talking about space, comfort, technology or performance. Therefore, Palisade 2026 is not only the largest SUV of the brand, but also one of the most complete vehicles in the segment, fully justifying the attention it received in the SUV of the year competition.
