This was revealed by Kia Europe the new Niroa revamped hybrid CUV designed to simplify everyday mobility through efficient electrification, a practical crossover configuration and improved connectivity. The updated model introduces a propulsion strategy exclusively hybrid for the European market, positioning the new Niro as a key entry point into Kia’s electrified vehicle range.
The transition to electrified mobility
By combining hybrid efficiency with familiar driving characteristics, the model provides a transition path for customers moving from cars with internal combustion engines to electrified mobility. By focusing on ease of use, safety and technology, the new Niro solidifies its role in the highly competitive hybrid CUV segment.

Niro: over 620,000 units sold in Europe
The Niro quickly established itself as a success story for the Kia brand in Europe. Since launch, the model has been positioned as a convenient and practical entry point into electric mobility, meeting the diverse needs of European customers.
The high driving position, generous interior space and practical design ensure comfort in everyday driving scenarios, while a comprehensive set of safety features boosts driver confidence. The flexible powertrain strategy – hybrid, plug-in hybrid and 100% electric in the previous generation – has been popular in Europe, where charging infrastructure differs from country to country. Since its launch in Europe, the model has been registered sales of 620,000 unitsthe hybrid version being the best-selling version.
Hybrid propulsion system for daily driving
The new Niro is equipped exclusively with a modern hybrid propulsion system, which combines a petrol engine 1.6 liter GDI with direct injection and electric motor. The system integrates an internal combustion engine 75 kilowatts and an electric motor 32kWproviding a combined power of 138 CP and driving the front wheels via a dual-clutch transmission and six speed (6 DCT).
The model reaches a maximum speed of 170 kilometers per hour and accelerate from From 0 to 100 km/h in 11.3 secondsoffering the well-known autonomy and comfort of conventional systems in daily use.
Updated exterior design — «Opposites United»
The new Niro introduces exterior updates in line with the design philosophy “Opposites united”maintaining the distinctive crossover identity. Redesigned front and rear bumpers give the car a stronger presence on the road.
The headlights adopt an orientation verticallywith standard LED technology Multi-Faceted Reflector (MFR) for better light distribution. The redesigned tailgate eliminates the license plate compartment for a cleaner surface, increasing the perceived width of the vehicle.
With a length of 4,430 mm and a step of 2,720 mmThe Niro offers generous space in the compact CUV segment. The trunk has 430 liters (VDA)and towing capacity reaches 1,010 kilograms (with braking system). The aerodynamic coefficient is 0.28with circles of 16 OR 18 pcs.
Internal: large screen and ccNC connectivity

Inside, materials and color schemes have been updated for a more contemporary cabin. The new Niro introduces a redesigned dashboard and center console architecture around the infotainment system ccNC cu ecran panoramic 2×12.3 inches.

- HDA 2.0 — highway driving assistance (adaptive driver + lane centering)
- LFA2 — maintenance of the tread
- BCA — avoid collisions in the blind spot
- ISLA — intelligent assistance at the speed limit
- PDW — parking warning
- RVM — posterior vision monitoring
The vehicle also introduces functionality «Practical Detection» (HOD) via capacitive steering wheel, plus RSPA (intelligent remote parking assistance).
